Riverkeeper Water Quality “Working Boat” Trip for Two (October 13 ONLY)

Climb aboard the “R. Ian Fletcher,” Riverkeeper’s “working boat” for a private session for two with Captain John Lipscomb about water quality (including taking samples in Yonkers) and history of the Hudson River. The 65-year-old travels around 5,000 miles on the Hudson River each year, deters polluters, collects river samples, and monitors contamination, serving, as he puts it, “a living river.” This would be a working boat trip scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 13 (Rain or shine). Embark from Westerly Marina, 7 Westerly Road, Ossining, at around 10 a.m. (depart soon after). Disembark at Groundwork Hudson Valley’s Science Barge in the early afternoon. This trip will be rain or shine. It’s important that anyone who bids can climb the ladder on the side of the Science Barge and is also OK with a friendly dog aboard the Fletcher. Mask coverings are mandatory.

Please note: Parking available at Westerly Marina. Return back to Westerly Marina via Metro North to Westerly, where the marina is in walking distance from the train.
